Credit Report is Wrong?

I live In Pa., being hassled from ever Credit Card, out there,have

gotta stuff from the DJ,Civil Court. When to an attorney,said

get a copy of your credit report,just received it,it has the wrong

date of birth on it.

Ok,the real question is, having moved back home with my mom,

(in her 80's-has cancer,the whole chemo thing going on now-couldn't leave her alone etc etc, you know.)

The sheriff shows up-comes in to her house,to give me

these papers saying some credit card place is going

to take all her stuff,it's her house,furniture and all that,

I have are a cd player, cd's, my clothes, a old 6 yr

computer and a old 20 yr junker auto.What can I do,

can they come in scare her, and say they can sell whatever

they like,help.....

  1. Did your credit report show judgments?  You should contact the courts and get copies of those judgments.  You may have to see an attorney to get those judgments set aside.

    Have you disputed all the errors to the credit bureaus?  It sounds like someone has been using your ID.  Send certified, return receipt letters to those accounts that are not yours.  Request validation of the debt to include contracts or other documentation that proves the debt is yours.  You may want to indicate that you suspect ID theft.  Give them 30 days to respond.

    If they fail to validate, you can dispute the items with the credit bureau again, attaching a copy of your validation request and indicating that they failed to validate.

    In any event, the sheriff was an idiot!  Your mother's assets cannot be attached to cover your debts.  It is also extremely unlikely that any credit card company would actually take household goods.  They want cash, not used merchandise.


  2. They can't take anything that belongs to your mom,they can only take your stuff.I can't believe the sherriff could be so stupid.
