Question:

Credit and buying a new car question?

So, next year sometime my husband and I want to get a new car. A Nissan Murano to be exact. The model we are looking at is at 27,000 dollars. But, he is soon to be out the airforce, and we sort of wanted to get the car before he gets out because the military looks good on the application. However, our credit is not the greatest. We are paying off our credit cards in full, but we have some late payments on there.

We own a townhome though, and have another car.

What do you think? And, how can I fix this?

  1. Well, credit is important in terms of getting a loan and monthly payments (along with other payments and how much you make). If your credit isnt bad (its decent) then the dealer probably will approve your loan, but your monthly payments will be a little higher.

You could try making ALL of your future payments on time and if you have a morgage pay that on time every month as well. Doing those things could and probably will help your credit go up.

  2. Get the car now.  The economy is in such a bind right now people are selling cars to ANYONE who will buy them.

  3. Great choice... an SUV with $4 a gallon gas... great choice.
