  1. usually when you get your first checking account they will also sign you up for a student credit card. just don't s***w it up!

  2. Well, you're old enough. A credit card application will ask how much money you make per year. Almost all credit cards will give you some credit depending on your yearly income.

A credit card is not income at all. You're borrowing money with a promise to repay it. If you repay it when the bill is due, then you will have no finance charges.

  3. I couldn't get approved for a card without a VERY HIGH APR since i didnt have any credit.... so what I had to do is get a secured credit card. which is a card where you pay a "deposit" and within a couple of months of on time payments they give you your deposit back and some places turn your card into unsecured cards with no deposit needed. you can get a secured card at your local bank or credit union.

  4. As this is your first time, you have to show your saving book to the bank where you opened a bank account. According to the amount of money you have in your account, and the income you get from your job, the bank will decide to give you a credit card or not. if so, it will state the amount of your credit. Due to the fact it is your first credit card, banks usually do not give too much credit to card holders, unless you have a lot of money to support it...The credit card is not usually written as an income, and it is not considered like that...at least in the places I have been...

  5. you will need to show that u are working, have an income of some sort so they know u can pay the card back..if you belong to a bank or a credit union u may want to apply for a card thru them...and im not sure what u mean in the 2nd part of your question...do u mean can u count ur card as income?  if so..no...its not income...

  6. A credit card is not income it's the exact opposite. It's debt.

When you're 18 it can be very, very easy to get carried away and end up with a credit card debt that you can't pay off. This is a terrible way to start your adult life, financially speaking.

By the time I was 19 I had a $3000 credit card debt and 6 months later I am down to $2500. I have to consider by debt before I do anything or buy anything and I cannot move out of home when I want to because I have this debt hanging over my head.

What I'm saying is don't get a credit card just because you're 18 and you can. Especially when, if you need to ask these questions, it doesn't sound like you really understand what you're getting yourself into.
