  1. Check www.resellerratings.com for unknown on-line retailers before you buy.  B&H Photo, Amazon, Adorama, and Calumet are good camera retailers.  Many credit card companies will issue a temporary internet account number that is only good for a short period of time from one retailer.  But generally, credit cards are safe to use as they offer fraud protection.  You can help yourself though by only dealing with trusted vendors.

  2. It's a credit card. You have fraud protection.

  3. Yes. I do it all the time

  4. That depends on what site you are using. I have no problems so far with online shopping. Best of Luck.

  5. That mainly depends on the sites that you are buying from: if it's some reputed site you need not worry - like ebay, irctc.in.

To be on the safe side, look out for some verisign symbol or the little lock that appears on a browser window.

Also, register with your bank for MasterCard Secure or Verified by Visa programs; these are free safety options that you can opt for. this will require you to use a password( known as challenge response) whenever you use your card online.

  6. as long as you see the verisign sign...i think that's what it's called.  it will say secured site.  paypal is excellent if that's an option
