Credit card stolen?

I take care of a 90 yr old lady . well i just took over during her bills . she has a credit card that she hardly ever uses . well i was going through her credit card statment and there were some transactions on their that she did not make . i called to cancel her card . So know what will happen ? will she get her $ back ? and will the person who took her card get caught ? there were not much maybe $400 -$500 used on the card. most of it was used at the gas pump

  1. Have ya contacted the police? The people when they use the card will get that it has been canceled so can't use it anymore. Did ya tell them when ya canceled it that it was stolen why ya was canceling it? If ya did they should then call police when it is used.


  2. You should question the charges before cancelling it.  The company may be able to remove some of the charges.

    I suppose you told the card company that these charges were false.  

    What should happen is that they not charge her for them.

    You might see many accounts on here of elderly being ripped off like this.

  4. When you were cancelling the card, did you dispute the charges?? If you didnt dispute the charges, YOU ARE LIABLE. Contact the CC company right away and see if you can still dispute.
