  1. I agree with dumplin. I still live at home with my parents so although I pay my way, my mum does the weekly shop and I sometimes go with her. She goes to asda late on quite often. They're open 24 hours during the week so she leaves it til 9/10 ish and comes back with all kinds of things reduced.

  2. Closely examine your lifestyle. Shop wisely, look for the offers all the time, avoid named brands, buy the store's brand. Stick to Tesco/Asda/Aldi/Lidl for cheap food. Buy clothes from Matalan/Primark. Make sure you buy fuel from a supermarket that gives points as these do add up.

Don't smoke and drink only occasionally. Drive slower and with less acceleration to save fuel. Do your own car servicing with the aid of a Haynes manual. Take up DIY where you can to save tradesmen's rates. If you get into the habit you will be amazed at how much cash you were wasting.

  3. Shop around, don't do your shop at just 1 place, also if you go to the supermarkets in the evenings a lot of food is reduced. I've had many bargains doing this. Warburtons loaves reduced to 10p, pork roast reduced from £9 to £2 and too many others to mention.
