Question

i tryd to get a mob on a play an i rang up the credit check people and they said i owe money to 2 places in the ammount of $400 if i pay that back can i get the fone?

p.s i dont even no who i owe money to but when i find out i will pay it back

Get a copy of your credit report (AnnualCreditReport.com) and see what shows up on your report.  If you don't recognize the debts, dispute them with credit bureaus.  It could simply be a posting error.

It that doesn't get the negatives removed, send the creditor a certified, return receipt letter requesting validation of the debt to include contracts or other documentation that proves the debt is yours.  Give them 30 days.  If they fail to respond, send another dispute to the credit bueaus, with a copy of your validation request, indicating that the creditor failed to validate the debt.  That should get the debt removed.

If the creditor does respond and the debt is yours, negotiate payment.  Get it in writing and don't give the collector direct access to your bank account.

Even if you pay off these negatives, that won't improve your score.  You would probably have to pay a large deposit for that cell phone.  Maybe you should stick to prepaid phones.
