  1. Call the company you financed the car through and get a zero balance receipt.  You can also contact the three credit bureau's and dispute the mark on the report.  You can dispute via phone and via their website.

  2. You can use credit repair agency to fix your credit - for example this one - http://freecreditreport.sinfree.net - They can clean lots of such bad stuff from your credit report - and do it much faster than yourself, so your credit will go up fast.

  3. learn to understand some principle conception before accept any suggestion is a great idea. Here is great place to start.http://creditreport.onlineidea.info/free...

  4. If the car loan is showing as paid to date, it is not a derogatory item.  Is you ex still paying the car payments?  As long as he pays on time, it will continue to show on your credit file as an account in good standing.  Leave it alone

Also, it sometimes takes 60 days for creditors to update files.  If your bankruptcy was just discharged, the lender may not have updated.

  5. Bddancer is correct. Let it alone and make sure he's making the payments on the auto. When you file a bankruptcy and the debt is included in the bankruptcy filing, every creditor will or should show up on your credit report as "included in bankruptcy" for the next 7 years. The bankruptcy will show as US Bankruptcy Court, with the date of discharge and will show for 10 years on your credit report. You can verify all your information from your Creditor Matrix (List of your bills),thru the bk paperwork. You can call the credit reporting bureaus and have them change the report to show included in bk, but, as bddancer stated, it could be too early to do all this. Once the creditors report the new info, it'll be on there. Your concern would be that it's included, that way if someone should pull your credit report for a loan, it says included in the bankruptcy and they know you don't still owe it...You can try and contact the credit agency on the auto loan, they may be able to fix it, they may also have you contact the loan company to report it correctly. Good Luck!
