Question:

Credit score - different agencies rank differently?

Okay, so I got my credit score from Transunion. They say their scoring system works on a scale that goes up to 990. I have read that other agencies have a scale that goes up to 850.

How do I understand what the other agencies would score me at? Is there a calculation I can use, or would I have to pay to see my credit score from the other agencies?

Are there any websites out there that would show my combined score?

  1. EXACTLY what are you trying to do? Keep in mind these are risk rating models, based on the experience of millions of similar profiles. The objective is to build wealth, not incur debt and spend resources paying it back.

  2. Honestly I don't know of a calculation you can use to determine it on your own....I personally had a credit monitoring service thru Transunion that monitored all 3 reports and scores....I cancelled it becuase my bank had one for FREE...anyway I got all 3 my scores my last day with Transunion and in addition I ordered my scores again thru my bank the same day and all three scores were different with both services....with this said I strongly recommend you get your credit scores thru FICO directly (which is what I should've done in the first place) because of different scoring systems with the different bureaus your credit score is likely to be different which is why the scoring scales  are different.....so if you go thru www.myfico.com order all three scores and reports (if needed) and calculate your average to get a combined score ---- your FICO score is the score most lenders use and not the score offered thru the credit bureaus

FYI --- My actual FICO score was 50 points higher than the scores thru Transunion and my bank!!!
