For a truly accurate score you need to get it from FICO and that is not free.

It's not one of those scam sites, and you don't have to cancel before a  date to be certain you wont be charged.  It's the official website to get your free credit reports that you're allowed once a year.

I'm sorry, I forgot to note that you are not able to get your credit SCORE for free anywhere-- it's only your credit reports that you are entitled to free copies of.  Sorry about that.

Everyone in the U.S. is allowed 1 free credit report per year ( 1 from each of the 3).  What you don't get is your FICO score...that can cost you.  But it's good to get the reports to check for accuracy.
