  1. It's the same thing.  You are added to her account.  The danger for her is: if her limit is $1,000  the two of you need to coordinate your spending so you don't spend $501 on the same weekend that she spends $501.

See if you can get your own card.  Are you working.

  2. Joint or Authorized users have different access, but she has to approve it.

You have to be very careful with credit, you get the goods, but the bills are out of sight out of mind. Just make sure you can pay for it. I mean dont hope you will get a pay check or whatev, use the card as more of an accounting tool to track your expenses earn rewards and gain rights to cash you already have. Once you spend cash itz gone, gone, gone. Certain conditions allow you to refute your services.

Read more on this, credit is a serious thing. I spent the last two years doing admin. work, i have seen alot of credit stuff, read "What every credit card holder should know" by howard stong. he explains things so regular people like me and you can understand.

You will have to read the fine print to the specific card she is on to see if your old enough or n e thing that might pose an obstacle, u dont want to get in to a legal mess. That would stink.

  3. Yes, you would be an authorized user on your mom's account

  4. you can go on as an authorized user ,but you bear no responsibility for charges it's all on mom ,or you and mom could open a joint account and both would be libel for debts............tom

  5. second cardholder but be careful as you could get into real debt and your mom would be liable

  6. yes, it is called the second cardholder.  You knew the answer all along.
