Question:

Cremation is so wasteful of energy . When I die why can`t my body be minced and used as fertilizer?

I have no religion so don`t want to end up in a churchyard.Having tried to live a green life i`d like to have a green death as well.

  1. I like your enthusiasm but i'm not sure how many people would be willing to eat vegetables grown with the fertilizer of human remains. But hey, why not?

    I like the idea of an eco burial


  2. AS OUR POPULATION DOUBLES, TRIPLES, + . MY OPINION IS THAT ALL THE DEAD SHOULD BE CREMATED TO ALLOW MORE ROOM FOR THE LIVING AND THE ENERGY YOUR SO WORRIED ABOUT YOU PAY EXTRA FOR THAT ENERGY.

    Actually, I'm pretty sure that's illegal. There are limits to how green you can be and still remain civilized.

  6. You can choose an eco/woodland burial.

    There are various places where you can now choose for your body to be buried without cremation/a box, so it can return to nature over time.

  10. Why not donate your body to a medical school.  It would be a way for you to give back even after you are gone.

  11. but that takes up precious land and can hurt it. b/c then they have to use fertilizer to grow the grass back, and then use gas to mow the grass.

    that is way harmful to the environment that cermation.

  16. And it seems like a greater waste of my survivor's money (or my estate's) to buy a chunk of ground, a coffin, etc.

    Cremation and disposal of the ashes makes more sense.  Besides, the ashes are a good additive to the soil.  Makes happy plants!

  17. There is a risk of spreading disease.

    Humans are full of bad things, pollution too. Burning the dead ones is probably the safest thing to do with them.
