  1. I was actually just discussing this topic with a friend yesterday.  Before yesterday's conversation, I would have said cremation, because we're getting short on burial space.

However, my friend was on her way to a funeral a few years ago, and met an anthropologist on the plane.  He commented to her that by so many of us being ecologically concerned, future scientists are losing the ability to learn about our society.  The only reason we know about ancient societies is because we have found their burials.  Future societies are going to dig up our ancestors' graves, but they may never find anything from this age.

I'm still not certain...I see arguments for both, and I hope that I have a few years yet to finalize my decision.

  2. Give me cremation.  BTW, you must mean burying?

  3. isn't it basically the same?

  4. My dad used to say, " Why waste good ground for growing potatoes ," in regards to being buried.    He was cremated and had his ashes scattered  in the ocean at  Saybrook Point, CT where our family used to go in the summer.

So I going to say the same thing----cremation.

  5. I either want to be cremated or have my body launched into space...

Well actually Id prefer to be frozen. Cryogenics anyone? I doubt the bodies we freeze now will still be viable in the future but if theres any shred of hope to continue living Ill take it thank you.

  6. What is the difference?
