Creme Brulee question

Can you make this using brown sugar or will I need white sugar (for the burnt layer)?

  1. Yes.

    Try it with Honey.


  2. white is preferred for caramelizing , though brown sugar will give you probably a darker caramel. But if this is your first time making it, do it with the white until you have perfected that, then explore other avenues.  

  3. for better results i would use white sugar, it will burn easier.
