Crepe myrtle tree/plant. One of the big branches fell off, If I stick that in the ground will it grow roots?

The branch will it become it's own plant/tree if I stick the branch in the ground? I found it broken off I don't know what happened but it's got flowers and leaves all over it.

i dought the branch will root. i could under right conditions. to better the chances take off flowers and keep leaves moist/ misted.

I don't believe it'll root, now as for the original tree it should be fine, it'll sprout new limbs at the break spot and should be flowering very soon. These trees love to grow.
