Question:

Crested Gecko Questions!?

I have a few questions about crested geckos:

Are these good books: Crested Geckos: By the Experts at Advanced Vivaria Systems by Phillipe de Vosjoli, Crested Geckos by Adam Black, and Crested Geckos in Captivity by Robbie Hamper, because I want to get those.

How much do you think a 4 month old "normal" coloration crested would cost at a Reptile Expo?

Is it okay to not feed crickets? I will be feeding CGD (mainly), baby food, fruit, applesauce, mealworms, and wax worms.

Thanks.

  1. Those books sound fine, crested geckos are pretty easy to care for all they need is cgd, 50-80% humidity, 65-83 degrees F., stuff to climb on, and a caring owner. A 4 month old normal should run about 30-50 I would say unless it has no tail then it should be dirt cheap if not free... even without a tail they are still great little guys to have! Also, crickets are not a must but they do like them, and its good with any reptile to "mix it up a bit" maybe once in while like 2-3 times a month get some crickets from petsmart or other shop, dust them and throw them in for a treat!!   GOOD LUCK!!!!     TYLER

  2. Anything that the Experts at Advanced Vivaria Systems are amazing books, I would go with that one if you just want to buy one.

  3. Yes ,those are excellent books.

I paid fifty dollars for an unsexed "normal " at a reptile expo in white plains NY  cgd and baby food are fine according to what i have seen and have been told by the breeders and others who keep cresteds
