Those of you with newborns..can you give me the name of your mattress if you love it? I have been doing a lot of research online so I know all about coil count, steel strength and thickness...vents vs. vents...covers. I want one that fits a standard crib, that will hold up well and will be safe for my baby. Does anyone have a recommendation? Oh yeah, it would help if it was reasonably priced, maybe around $100.

  1. The ones at Babies R Us that are in the $85 to $120 range are all good.  Go on the crib manufacturer's website and get the recommended size of the mattress, and choose one that is the right size.  The sizes are very specific because there cannot be too much of a gap between the crib and mattress.  (Believe it or not, this may narrow down your options enormously.)

  2. We got my son a Sealy Natural Rest mattress.  It was about $80 at Target.

  3. The main thing is to have a firm mattress that fits snug in the crib.  You can find a good one at Toys R Us.  Its the same company as Babies R Us, but the prices are a lot better.
