  1. I would go ahead and put him into a toddler bed...  Make sure to have a gate on his door and also baby safe his room, that way if he gets up he will be safe.

  2. maybe you should get him a toddler bed a bit later

when he's about two or so and can actually climb out of the crib

for now, make sure you pad the floor thickly in case he falls out, but i don't think he would so soon

  3. I would keep him in the crib until you see him trying to get out, usually when it seems like he does not want in and is pulling on the crib's top bar thing.

  4. Okay well im sure youve noticed that im not an adult by my profile. but im am an older sister. I love little kids more than anythiong so im very into helping out when i can. Ive been a big part of raising my brother becasue my dad left him when he was 6months old so i know this stuff;;

My brother climbed out of his crib for the first time when he was a little over one. He was about 14months i think;; My mom bought him a toddler crib soon after that. When we saw that he started climbing we took extra percautions, like putting pillows next to his crib so he wouldnt get hurt if he climbed out. But we didnt move too quickly to move him into a toddler bed, becasue we didnt want to make the change too quickly. I think you should wait like we did, but you deffenitly do want to take percautions like i said becasue you dont want your baby getting hurt. I also suggest getting a saftey rail when you get him a toddler bed. But as for now, just let him be & dont worry too much about him climbing out of his crib, he will be fine. Just check on him frequently and make sure that if he does climb out of his crib that theres nothing around that he can hurt himself with.

Also if your really that afraid of him falling out of his crib then move his crib into your room so if he falls atleate you will be there when he gets out.

Overall, i would just wait to get him a "big boy" bed, & plus you dont want him growing up too fast =]

    I REALLY HOPE I HELPED <3

    Best Wishes <3

  5. keep the crib until he can actually climb out (usually around 2).   BTW - Just because you climbed out of your crib, doesn't mean he can unless you're using the same one... they're manufactured differently now, including being able to drop the bottom down lower instead of having a fixed height like when we were young.

Its a lot easier to weather all the night time phases when his in a crib, than when he's able to get out of bed and wander around/play/get in trouble.  Just because he can't reach the doorknob now, doesn't mean that he can't (or won't) a couple months from now... think ahead to all the phases he will go through before you decide to move him as a preventative measure.

  6. keep the crib until he attempts to climb the walls

then switch to a toddler bed

there is no reason to switch when he isnt ready

if he cant climb the walls then he may fall out of the toddler bed because he hasnt developed climbing skills to pull himself out of bed

    (:

  7. my daughter was a little over 1 when i get her a twin size bed. i never seen the since of getting a toddler bed for the short time of use. each parent knows the best time to get their child the bed of choice. so dont stress over this matter.

  8. keep the crib till he attempts it. And i would get the toddler bed when he is 2-3 yrs old, cause he might climb out of bed and wounder/play with thins not allow to/get hurt/get in to bad things.and i would get a crib tent it keeps them from getin out of thier crib, keeps bugs and cats out of the crib.

  9. I think it depends on 3 things - how well your child falls asleep, how well he stays asleep, and how well he can settle himself down if he were to wake up in the middle of the night.  If your child is not a great sleeper, you are going to have a lot of trouble with him getting out of the toddler bed.  This means a lot of your having to get out of bed to put him back in bed.  If you think he may be ready, put the crib mattress on the floor and see how he does.  If he stays on the mattress and continues to sleep well, go for the toddler bed.

  10. My daughter is about the same age (14/15mos) and climbing as well. She climbs everything her little tush can(chairs, coffee table, etc), but she's not attempted the crib and I don't think she'd be successful even if she did. As long as you have a safe crib I'd keep him in that. I don't intend on transitioning my daughter to a big girl bed(will be a toddler bed) until she is closer to 2 or when baby #2 rolls around in the near future. However, if she does manage to climb out before that, we will transition her regardless of age.

  11. we had the same problem with our daughter at 11 months so we went to ebay and bought a crib tent! they are like $20 and they go under the mattress and up the inside of the crib and look like a tent on top! they are also made for keeping bugs and cats out of babys bed! and it makes your crib last longer! and i wouldnt get a toddler bed untill the crib is getting too small! like 3 is what all my family have said so i hope that helps but defintitly get a crib tent b/c is sounds like you have a lil mokey on ur hands too!!
