Cricinfo IPL Fantasy League guide: Chennai Super Kings vs Pune Warriors
After a miraculous last-ball victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore, courtesy of Sir Ravindra Jadeja and some help from RP Singh, the Chennai Super Kings are all set to take on the Pune Warriors, who would be feeling down in the dumps due to yet losing streak that is beginning to become a bit too long to their liking.
If you are among the thousands that have been bit by the CricInfo IPL Fantasy League bug and are searching for a bit of an advice for today’s game, then we sure have a few suggestions to make.
Firstly, you are probably already aware of the fact that Sri Lankan players are not allowed to play in Chennai, thank to the unwanted influence of politics on the sport. Therefore, skipper Angelo Matthews will not be playing.
The big man, Yuvraj Singh, is out once again as well, which will mean that an Indian and an overseas player would be making their way into the squad. Our guess is that the overseas spot would go to none other Australian all-rounder Steven Smith.
In case you have Matthews or Yuvraj in your Fantasy XI, it is time to take them out and replace them with a Chennai Super Kings all-rounder.
Since the pitch is expected to assist both pacers and spinners, you can either go for Dwayne Bravo, Jadega, or even Chris Morris. All three of them are expected to make significant contributions with the ball today.
As far as specialist bowlers are concerned, Bhuvneshwar Kumar of Pune Warriors would definitely be a good choice, since he can move the ball in the air and trouble the batsmen. Ashok Dinda should be avoided, as he is expected to be as wayward as ever.
From the Chennai Super Kings side, Dirk Nannes and Ravi Chandaran Ashwin would be a good pick for today.
Now comes the most important part of the Fantasy XI, the batsmen.
Pune Warriors have two batsmen that you should seriously consider including in your team, namely Aaron Finch and Ross Taylor. Both of them are more than handy with the bat and they get their runs at a good pace as well.
The Chennai Super Kings line-up has some really good batsmen as well, namely Suresh Raina, Michael Hussey and Murali Vijay. Choose either of the three and you will be good to go.
In case you have sufficient transfers on hand, consider adding Mahindra Singh Dhoni to your line-up. He is not only great with the gloves, but is arguably the best Indian batsman in the IPL, yes even better than Virat Kohli.
