when an overhead bouncer is bowled, it is called as a WIDE ball.

That means that the ball is not an eligible one, then why is it called a bouncer (even a first bouncer in some cases) and that means that the bowler cannot bowl any more bouncers.

strange, why is it like it????

i didn't understand this concept.

  1. The ball u called  as a bouncer is correct but the desicion and final judgement is always done by the umpire so when he feels that the bouncer is out of reach of a bats man he can always give itt a wide

Finally any bouncer should alwyas reach the batsman limit!!!

  2. Yes dont worry i too am having problems with that rule..

To me a wide is when it is out to the side but a bouncer to me is and was called a no ball..There were alowed 1 in the over i suppose to intimidate the batsman but i suppose they now see any more than 1 bouncer a threat?..

Who knows but it is silly rule.

  3. that is considered as one bouncer for giving added punishment to the bowler for bowling harshly

  4. i didn't understand this concept.

  5. Its too high..............

  6. kingsXI

  7. who cares we just play to enjoy

  8. the ball might not be an eligible one but still is a bouncer. The bowler is allowed one bouncer per over and he screwed that chance by bowling too high so he must pay for it.
