Cricket Australia 2011 - Selectors admit communication gap between National Selectors and players
Australian selectors have accepted the reality that communication between the national panel and the players used for national contracts has not been up to the mark.
"You're always looking to improve those relations, and particularly the communications. Most players like to know where they stand”, said Australian selector, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gregory-Stephen-Chappell-c60820.
Recently, Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 (CA) has renewed their list of 25-contracted players for the next 12-months, which was being designed by the national selection panel.

Removal of Katich from the list of 25 was stunning news, not only for the cricketer himself, but also for his fellow players and former cricketers. As former Test opener, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Jonathon-Slater-c76070 expressed a disappointment over Katich’s removal, despite his brilliant
performances in Test cricket.

In the same way the former Australian cricketer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MEK-Hussey-c1942.
Chappell added that though players claim that they want an open and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-James-Harris-c44410 judgment of where they are, with reference to their performance, receiving bad comments, or, news is always hard to receive as well as to deliver.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ricky-Thomas-Ponting-c85411 is the most recent critic of the decision, who said that the axing of Katich from the list of contracted players was nothing less than a shock for him, as the player has been giving best performances for the last two, to three years.
“The chairman of selectors is the one who has to deliver that news and it isn't always well received, obviously", asserted Chappell.
Chappell also mentioned that the Australian selection process has not been changed over the past few years, despite the fact that the game has developed to a greater extent.
In the wake of reactions over Katich’s omission, the Australian selection panel is now avoiding public comments, until the squad for the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Mark-Jefferson-Hilditch-c44498.
