Cricket Australia instructs New South Wales to use http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Watson-c2558 sparingly in CLT20 - Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823, has disclosed the reason for his side not utilizing the bowling services of Australia’s top all-rounder Shane “Watto” Watson in the ongoing Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) tournament.
According to Stuart, Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326’s injury prone career, CA has shown their concerns
and advised NSW not to burn out the all-rounder.
Speaking to media on Monday, Stuart said, “Shane is just coming off the Test series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758. He bowled some good spells down there and probably more in a Test series than he has for quite some time. Shane has had a history
of injuries early in his career and we got a direction from Cricket Australia that they didn't want him to bowl.”
Stuart is fully aware of Australia’s schedule and asserts that his side has no issues with Watson not bowling, as they already have a well balanced bowling unit, which includes the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stuart-Clark-c2591 and Phil Cummins.
Sharing his thoughts over the subject, NSW head coach said, “Straight up after this series (CLT20), they have the series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750. He's (Watson) going
to have a big workload this summer. We don't have any issues with Shane not bowling.”
Watson has been used sparingly in the Champions League by NSW. The all-rounder has played in three games so far and is yet to ball a single delivery. However, he has not been in best of form with the bat lately as the right-handed
batsman has scaled 51 runs from three innings at an average of 17.
NSW is one of the toughest sides in the CLT20 and so far they have played up to expectations. Albeit, batting has not been their strong point but their bowlers have carried the burden superbly.
NSW coach will be hoping that his bowlers continue the good work and guide his side to one more victory, when the Australian club goes against Chennai Super Kings in a Group-A match to be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday,
October 4. A win for NSW would ensure a spot for them in the semi-finals.
