Cricket Australia reveals squad for warm-ups against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 – Cricket News Update
Cricket Australia’s (CA) National Selector http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Robert-John-Inverarity-c85980 revealed the squads that will lock horns against the touring Indian side in two warm-up matches.
Indians are scheduled to play two warm-up matches against Chairman's XI before the Test series against Australia’s national side commences. CA has put up two completely different teams for the warm-up games.
Both warm-ups will be played at Manuka Oval, Canberra, and each of them will last exactly two days. First warm-up kicks-off on Thursday, December 15 followed by the second one on Monday, December 19, 2011.
Considering the warm-up games as a great opportunity to groom youngsters, Inverarity said, “the two Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 Chairman's XI games against India provide opportunities for many of our promising young players to display their
talents and to gain experience against some legendary Indian players.”
Chairman's XI will be captained by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Graham-Downton-c44379 Cowan in the first warm-up. The opening batsman has been in prolific form with the bat and has scored back to back centuries in his last three first class matches.
David Warner will be leading the side in the second practice game. The left-hander will be accompanied by Shaun http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Simon-James-Marshall-c90362, Usman Khawaja and Phil Hughes all of whom have represented Australian national side.
Warner, Khawaja and Hughes are currently part of the outfit that is playing against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 in the two-match Test series. Marsh on the other hand, will be returning after a lay-off of one month due to a back injury. All four
players will be making their utmost efforts to impress selectors for the first Test match against India, starting from Monday, December 26.
The CA National Selector said, “In the second of these two Cricket Australia Chairman's XI matches, a number of players in contention for the Vodafone Boxing Day Test squad will have the opportunity to press their claims. In the
