The South African born English player has a superb average of 42.17 in ODI’s while his test average stands at 49.20.
Kevin in recent ODI series has performed miserably. He was seen completely out of touch. The star batsman has failed to pass more than 50 runs in the last 17 matches. The last time he scored a 50 was in 2008 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 because of his poor form. But he insists that he is not worried about his bad form and will deliver in the upcoming series. He faces pressure from youngsters in the team. Recently Eoin Morgan, Ravi Bopara and Ian Bell have performed well with the bat which should be a source of worry for the former English Captain.

It happens to every single player. It's difficult when you play all three forms of the game to just keep on going and going and going. I don't know if there's a big score for me around the corner. If it happens it happens. I'm not too fussed. I'm not losing any sleep over it”.
Pietersen believes this rest has come at the right time. He is now fit from his injury and is all set to make a comeback against Pakistan. With victories in the last Ashes Series, T20 World cup final and a recent ODI victory against Australia, England will be a strong contender to defend the 2010-11 Ashes series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. England will love to see Pietersen in his old aggressive form where he easily handled Shane Warne and other Australian bowlers.

The Pietermaritzburg-born batsman however feels otherwise. Kevin thinks recent victories in T20 and ODI’s will count for nothing when they take on Australia in Brisbane this November. He said: "I don't think that the one-day series win and the Twenty20 win will have any effect at all on the Ashes, The only thing we can take out of those two series is that we know a bit more about their batsmen and bowlers and their fielding positions”.

He further adds that matches with state teams are also tough since they will come all out to defeat England.
Kevin will spend another week resting before starting practice for the series against Pakistan. England will play their first test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Surrey-c851. Kevin however said these decisions are for his agent to make.
