Cricket LIVE update, Indian officials apologise for ticket chaos - ICC World Cup 2011

The chief administrative officer of the Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 (BCCI), Ratnakar Shetty, expressed his deep apology to all the cricket lovers for the 2011 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup’s ticket chaos on Friday .
The chief admitted that the fans had been let down and had to face a lot of problems regarding the tickets of the World Cup match. He said that the ticket disturbance has occurred due to contractual obligations.
He stated, “We are sorry the fans have been let down, we understand their sentiments but we can't do much.”
The chaos started and even got worse when the violent Indian police collided with hundreds of fans, when they were waiting in the queues to buy tickets for the mega match between India and England on the 27th of February at the M.Chinnaswamy stadium
at Bangalore. Many people were injured as the baton-wielding police attempted to control the massive crowd.
Surprisingly 70,000 tickets were sold within a period of few hours, but many fans that were waiting throughout the night were disappointed, as they were left with no tickets.
The aggression came as International Cricket Council (ICC) took notice of the short fall of tickets and delays in delivery to the fans.
The ICC’s legal advisor David Becker has demanded for a solution from Sharad Pawar who is the acting chairman of the World Cup organising committee.
Sharad Pawar replied to Becker’s letter and said that it was all irrelevant and some solid action should be taken to solve this problem, before it gets more complicated.
He stated, "We are unhappy with Becker's letter. It is totally uncalled for, the Wankhede Stadium was only officially approved as the venue for the final on January 27 and it takes some time for the ticketing prices to be completed. You cannot expect tickets
to be made ready beforehand."
The change in venue from Eden Gardens is the main cause of this chaos. As the seating capacity of Eden Gardens was far more, than the current venue, the fans had to face difficulty which resulted in such a volatile situation.
