  1. because if the bowler is bowling from the pavilion end he can sneak in for a quick cuppa tea when noone is looking

and if at the nursery end

he can check to see if his kids are ok or pick a daisy for his missus

  2. The Lord's pitch has somewhat of a 'slope' ... one of the rarest things of a cricket pitch ever heard

  3. i think its because of the slop at one end

    ,

  4. There's a slight slope from one side to the other.

I can't remember which is faster, but one way you're running downhill, so you can bowl a little faster, and get less tired.

  5. The slight slope which can assist a bowler to move the bowl in towards the stumps from one end or away from the other. In 2005 Glenn  mcgrath used the slope very effectively getting the bowl to cut back allowing him to take 5 english wickets. Almost every bowler at every ground will have their favourite end for a number of reasons= slope, wind direction,  what the pitch is like at each end and boundary sizes etc.

  6. there is slope at one end , bowl comes back sharply from that end

  7. one end wind will assist bowler.other end wind is against. swinging will be the factor

  8. Depends on what type of bowler, the conditions
