Michael Vaughan, the former England Test skipper said that his team faces some important forthcoming battles which will Test their resolve.
The Poms face Pakistan in a full series in United Arab Emirates in early 2012 and will also travel to India for a four-Test match series at the end of next year.
They are currently ranked the no.1 Test ranked side in the world but Vaughan admitted that they need to improve their game, especially in the sub-continent.
“They ( England) are the No.1 Test team but must acknowledge there are areas of their game they need to improve, starting with playing in the subcontinent,” he said.
Indian captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni admitted that the upcoming four- match Test series will be their best chance to topple the Australians on their home turf.
The Men In Blue have never been able to defeat the Kangaroos in an away series and the Indian skipper recognizes the opportunity and wants to make full use of it.
The Aussies have come under considerable pressure in recent times after they yet again failed to put the final nail in the coffin and were defeated by New Zealand in over two decades.
Indian legend, Anil Kumble stated that he had no option but to resign from his post as the chairman of the National Cricket Academy.
He cited reasons for continual ignorance from the BCCI and other related parties and accepted that in the best interest of everyone, he had to step down.
"I felt that it made no sense to be a chairman when I was not being heard. I had no other option but to move on in life," Kumble said.
South African middle-order batsman and ODI captain, AB De Villiers wants his team to be consistent in the longer format of the game in order to dethrone the likes of England.
He highlighted the major worry in the team’s inability to finish off oppositions, which has seen them drop to no 3 in the ICC Test ranking.
The team has not won a home series since beating Bangladesh in 2008, and will hope to break that record when they take on Sri Lanka in the three-Test match series, which starts from December 15 at Centurion.
