Rahul Dravid has backed compatriot Sachin Tendulkar’s idea of splitting the ODI format into four innings of 25 overs each.

'The Wall', who retired from the 50-over format after the recently concluded ODI series against England, said that the method has been tried in Australian domestic cricket and one must look into the positives of the proposal.

However, ICC's Chief Executive rejected the Little Master's proposal, asserting that the 50-over version in its current form is in sound health and does not need whole-sale changes.

 
Australian wicket-keeper, Brad Haddin, has announced his retirement from International Twenty20 cricket in order to concentrate on limited overs and Test Cricket.

“This decision has been made to prolong my effectiveness in these formats and provide me further time to prepare for the demands of ODI and Test cricket,” he said.

The player represented his country in 25 T20 matches, averaging 18 with a total of 342 runs.

 
Former Pakistani skipper, Inzamam-ul-Haq has called for the resumption of India-Pakistan series, citing Sharjah as a perfect base.

“If it does not happen in the home country, they can have in a neutral venue and people will surely come where ever it is held,” he said.

The former captain also believed that under the current schedule, players are bound to get more injuries as they play too much cricket.

South African, AB De Villiers, hopes that his performances will help Royal Challengers Bangalore to lift the Champions League T20.

The player feels that the squad is fresh and hungry to taste success, while also comparing the tournament with the Champions League of football.

Tim Nielsen has been named as the head of the Emerging Redbacks Program, which will see him develop youngsters in his home state of South Australia.

Nielsen recently quit as the head coach of Australia, after leading them to a series victory in Sri Lanka, ending his four year association with the national team.

South Australian coach, Darren Berry, was pleased to get the services of the 43-year-old, who be believes will be a valuable asset for the growth of youngsters in the state.
