On Saturday, February 18, 2012, England and Wales Cricket Board announced that former batting legend, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Graham-Alan-Gooch-c60530, was appointed the national team batting coach on permanent basis.
After being named as England’s batting coach on full-time basis, Gooch said, “I am delighted to be taking on the role of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 batting coach on a full-time basis."
The veteran batsman has been working with England since 2009 as a consultant batting coach, but was now given the job permanently.
Gooch will now focus on England’s upcoming Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 after taking charge on March 5th.
"I will now have the opportunity to spend a lot more time with the players and other coaches both in the build-up to series and during the series themselves,” he said.
On Saturday, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that it would lend its support and cooperation to England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) should and if the English board decides to investigation spinner Danish Kaneria's involvement in Mervyn Westfield spot-fixing case.
"This match was an England domestic match, so it's in the ECB's basic jurisdiction, but since Danish is a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 player we are obviously looking into the matter with a lot of concern," said Taffuzul Rizvi, PCB's legal advisor.
