Pakistan’s outgoing coach Waqar Younis was pleased with his role in the team since he joined in 2010.
He had given his resignation to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) before touring Zimbabwe.

The former fast bowler stated that the results were enough to justify his efforts with the team and he was extremely happy over what he learned during his stint with the national team.

Australia’s skipper Michael Clarke praised pacer Ryan Harris for his solid show in Sri Lanka. The fast bowler did a decent job with the ball in the opening two Test of the three-match series, but was unable to take part
in the final game due to a hamstring problem.

Clarke was a little worried about Harris’ fitness, but expected the fast bowler to be available for the team’s next series against South Africa.

The Mumbai Indians (MI) have been allowed to field five overseas players in the Champions League Twenty20 tournament,
considering too many injuries to the locals.

Several top players including skipper Sachin Tendulkar, fast bowler Munaf Patel and batsman Rohit Sharma will not be able to take part in the tournament following injury problems.

However, the tournament organisers have decided to make the rules flexible by allowing the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise to go out with one additional foreign cricketer in the playing eleven.

South Africa’s AB de Villiers hopes his IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) start on a high
in the Champions League Twenty20. The team has been unable to win a major title until now.

RCB will play their first game of the tournament against the Warriors on Friday, September 22, 2011.

Former Australian pacer Damien Fleming believes that seamer Mitchell Johnson’s place in the team will be in doubt unless he starts performing consistently.

According to Fleming, there are quite a few good pacers coming through and this will put Johnson under immense pressure to retain his side in the team.
