New South Wales (NSW) all-rounder Steven Smith was confident that his side will bounce back in the Champions League Twenty20
by winning against Trinidad & Tobago (T&T) on Wednesday, September 28, 2011.

Smith was fully aware of the strengths of the opposition, but said that his side was well balanced and had some big hitters.

The young all-rounder was unsure whether veteran bowler Stuart Clark would be a part of the playing eleven or not, saying that this was totally the selectors call.

Australia’s acting chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch wants Mitchell Johnson to be a part of the Test team
against South Africa.

The veteran pacer was dropped from the Twenty20 squad following a dismal show against Sri Lanka in the shortest version of the game. He was named in the One Day International squad whereas the Test team is yet to be announced.

According to Hilditch, the wickets in South Africa will be ideal for Johnson and he will be a player to watch out for.

South Africa’s AB de Villiers will not be able to take part in the remaining Champions League Twenty20 matches
following a finger injury. He fractured his finger during a training session with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

According to South Africa’s team manager Mohammad Moosajee, the star wicketkeeper batsman will return home as the injury was quite serious. However, his participation in the series against Australia will depend on how quick he recovers.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Gautam Gambhir has claimed that his side needs to click as a team
rather than players performing individually.

The IPL franchise has lost three consecutive games in the Champions League Twenty20 and need to win their remaining matches in order to stay alive in the tournament.

Gambhir was not part of the team in the first few games, but has been leading the side after recovering from his injury.

Pakistan’s Yasir Hameed has claimed to be good enough for being selected in the national side.

The right-handed opener has been scoring runs with consistency in the ongoing Faysal Cup Twenty20 tournament in Karachi.

Hameed scored a century in his first game against Quetta and believes that he can still play a vital role for the team at the top of the order.
