Cricket Roundup
Today was the second day, of the third test match between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 is under a rain spell. It’s always like this, during this time of the year, in Sri Lanka. The rains end somewhere around Christmas. The home side was able to bowl, only 41 overs, today. The hosts were able to take two wickets, right at the start of the day but the rain has made it very difficult for the players, to perform well. The Sri Lankan bowlers bowled really good spells, restricting the runs of the West Indian, batsmen. Brendan Nash played really well for his half century and was still at the crease, when the play stopped for the day. By the end of the day, the facts are as follows: West Indies 244 for 5 (Nash 62*, Baugh 0*, Mendis, 2-51) vs. Sri Lanka.
Moving down south, the second Ashes Test match starts in Adelaide on Friday, 3rd December. The English side has really sent shock waves and wake-up calls to the entire Australian nation. English players showed great will and determination and snatched victory, from the hands of the host side. The English batsmen have continued their good form that they brought into the series and recovered really well, after a stutter in the first innings due to an inspirational performance by, birthday boy Siddle. England now has the upper hand, as the series has only four games remaining. If the Australians want to get the ashes back they will have to defeat the visitors in more matches. It was in 1986, when England won an Ashes series in Australia. The Australian bowlers would like to repeat their first innings performance, to take down the English side. The Australian selectors are not playing Mitchell Johnson, after his disappointing performance at the first Test, at Gabba. This news has come as a shocker and this is the very first time that the pacer has been dropped in his test career. The Australian side is under extreme pressure as they go into the match. One of the critics from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 wrote on his blog,
"Australian side must keep their head straight, maintain focus and should produce a magical performance with both the bat and the ball to run down the English side which refuses to give up."
Moving towards http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, it seems that luck is on their side. Their lead pacer, Zaheer Khan has recovered from his groin injury and is fired-up to unleash himself in the third ODI. Parveen Kumar is also available for the third one day. Here is a sneak-peak, at the squad, for the third one day international.
