(Continuation of Part 1’s discussion regarding the left hand dashers, cricketer in point is Brian Lara)
The 5 feet 8 inches tall veteran batsman was known for his ability for making long batting stands in the longer version of the game. He was able to maintain his class stroke play throughout his career, he was also well known for his late cuts and prolific
drives.
Lara’s unique foot-work allowed him to have all the time in the world to strike the cricketing ball. His sheer talent to settle quickly on his back foot allowed him to place the ball in the gaps. His swift timing and bat flow, made him among the finest left
handed classy batsmen.
The veteran holds a tremendous record of 11,953 runs from the 131 test matches he appeared in, as he scored at an impressive average of 52.88. He was able to maintain a strike rate of 60.51, from his massive of 1559 boundaries and 88 smashing hits out of
the park. The veteran had 34 centuries and 48 half-centuries, with a batting best of 400 not out runs. His 400 not out is the highest any one has scored in the history of the game in a single innings.
The Trinidadian is the by far the finest left hand dasher witnessed by the international arena. And surely is worthy of the number one positions among the top 10 Test left hand batting dashers of the cricketing world.

Australian star batsman Allan Border, who single handily with his great cricketing sense and knowledge led his national team to the threshold of the world-champions status. The veteran took over the captaincy slot from former skipper and team-mate Kim Hughes.
Australian cricket team was going to the dogs, as Allan Border raised the cricketing stakes and brought the lost cricket glory back to his country.
The veteran is considered to be one of the all time greats when it comes to timing and placing the cricket ball. On a regular basis, he was a consistent run scorer. He is known for his shot selection and his al-round the park stroke play.  Border’s achievements
with a bat are given more preference since he also had the load of captaining a dying cricket national team.
His quick foot work movement and back foot play allowed him to strike many world class flourishing boundaries. The left hand dasher was among the top batsmen of his era. He is by far the finest lefties witnessed by the international arena. His stroke play
included classy back and front foot drives, not to forget, his pull shots which were well assisted by his back foot batting stance.
The Australian veteran skipper and batsman hold an outstanding test record, as he has scored a massive of 11,174 runs at an average of 50.56. He has 27 centuries and 63 half-centuries to his name, with an innings best of 205 runs. He had a modest batting
strike rate which wasn’t justified by the massive 1161 flourishing boundaries and 28 smashing sixes he had struck in the longer version of the game.
Allan Border based on his outstanding test career and the fact that he most of his runs as captain, shows the class and temperament of this 55 year old Australian living legend. He surely is worthy of the second position among the top 10 Test left hand batting
dashers of the cricket fraternity.
