Cricket Special Report: Pakistani bowlers, Asif and Aamir the right bowling pair
Over the years, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has produced some extraordinary opening attack bowlers at the international level. In the lights of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292, Waqar Younis and Shoaib Akhtar Pakistan has produced several world class players. However, in recent times, after the retirement of the two W’s, veteran bowlers Akram and Younis the Pakistani cricket team were unable to fine right front-line bowling attack.
However, the fun loving cricketing nation has no lack of genuine talent and with advent of veteran right-arm fast bowler former captain Younis as coach; the Pakistani team has found and polished the right frontline opening attack. Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamir are the new W’s for Pakistan’s team, for all versions of the game. Both youngsters have shown promising performances against world class batting line-ups. Such as the mighty Aussie’s and the Englishmen, the two are the top cricketing test sides of the world.
Mohammad Aamir, the left-arm fast bowler made his debut in first-class cricket in 2007, and his first appearance in One-day Internationals (ODI)’s was in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in 2009. The 17 year old was one of the reasons why Pakistan won every single game in 2009 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Twenty20. Aamir has also shown immense potential to be a leading fast bowler. The veteran left-arm fast bowler Akram who spotted the talent in 2007, said regarding the youngster, “He is much cleverer than me at 18”. Up till now the young talent has played only 12 test matches, taking 39 wickets at an average of 33.30. Where, in ODI’s he has taken 25 wickets in just 15 matches at an average of 24.00.
On the other hand, Mohammad Asif started playing in first-class cricket in 2005 for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, playing his 1st test match. Asif has had a series of up and down in his short career, there was a controversy involving him in using anabolic steroid, Nandralone, in 2006. Later another incident occurred when he was detained in Dubai for procession of drugs. Nevertheless, on 20th July 2010, Asif’s, world test ranking for the top ten leading bowlers was at number 2. The youngster has taken 102 wickets in just 21 matches, on an average of 23.18. In ODI’s his record is also commendable with 46 wickets in just 38 matches on an average of 33.13.
These two extraordinary talented fast bowlers have done exceptionally well under the coaching of veteran in swinging master bowler Younis. Younis believes that the two talented fast bowlers have a lot of potential and with experience; they can reach the level of expertise and glory the two W’s had.
In http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s ongoing tour of England, the two fast bowlers are the only impressive and commendable sight, whereas, the rest of the team, especially, the batting department has suffered to face the English pace men. Even, the two were destructive as ever against the Aussies dismantling their batting line-up like peanuts.
However, one can only hope that these two promising youngsters are able to stay away from controversies. Rather concentrate on their individual game; they should look at the bigger picture. Even though, critics say that the two can never be even close to the glory reached by the two W’s , but one can only hope that the two are able to get as close as they can.
No matter what the critics have to say about these two talented fast bowlers. They themselves should keep their goals and priorities straight for the upcoming series and tours. Moreover, they should try to make their partnership stronger, develop a much stronger understanding with each other. Both of these talented bowlers should focus on the upcoming World Cup, obviously, Pakistan doing well in the World Cup will surely have to do a lot with how these two aggressive youngsters perform.
