The recent performance has boosted the morale of the Bengali cricketers, which couldn’t have come at a better time as the ICC World Cup 2011 is right at the corner. Not that the Bangladeshi will be a threat to the top five ODI teams in the tournament, but
as cricketing experts say that anything can happen in cricket.

by example in the recent home series against the Bengali national team.
In his infant career of 3-4 years of international cricket, the youngster has dazzled the world cricket and is becoming a threat with bat to many international teams.
From the 21 test appearances by the young Bengali skipper, he has scored 1179 runs, at an average of 31.02. He has a century and 5 half centuries, with a best of 100 runs in a single innings to his name. He also has maintained a modest strike rate of 55.53,
by striking 158 boundaries and 6 smashing hits out of the park.
His 21 test matches have also allowed the star Bengali al-round player to take 75 wickets, at an average of 32.13. He bowls at a strike rate of 67.7, with an economy rate of 2.84. Not to forget, that he has taken seven five wickets haul, with a best of 7
for 36 in a single innings and 9 for 115 from a match.
Hasan’s credentials in the limited over game with the bat are also commendable, as after playing 98 ODI’s the youngster has scored 3525 runs, at an average of 34.33. He has five centuries and fifteen half-centuries to his name, with a best of 134 not out. 
The blaster batsman has maintained a healthy strike rate of 77.13, by striking 243 boundaries and 19 sixes.
The Bengali cricketer has done reasonably well in the bowling department from the 98 ODI matches played by him. He has taken an impressive of 120 wickets, at a bowling average of 29.37. With a strike rate of 41.7 and an economy rate of 4.21, he has two of
the four wickets haul to his name. Cricket experts and commentators view batsman effectiveness in the 20-over game through his batting strike rate. Hasan has a massive strike rate of 111.89.
Shakib Al Hasan has played 14 T20 matches, scoring a modest of 207 runs, with a best of 47 runs.  Although, he has an acceptable batting average of 14.78, he has still struck 17 boundaries and 4 sixes.
