Cricket Special Report: Top 10 Wicket-keepers in the limited over game (Part 4)
(Continuation of Part 3’s discussion about the top 10 wicket-keepers- keeper at point Australian Adam Gilchrist)
Most of Adam’s dismissals came from taking catches, as he took a massive of 417 catches and he has 55 stumps to his name. With an innings best of 6 dismissals, as all 6 were catches taken. One might argue that most of his dismissals are from catches taken
based on the world class Australian pace attack, which enabled him to take or pocket such a large number of catches in the 50-over version of the sport.
The veteran has had an amazing run with the bat in the limited version of the sport. Keeping in mind, that he appeared in 279 innings out of the 287 matches played by him, he has scored an impressive of 9619 runs, at an average of 35.89. He has 16 centuries
and 55 half-centuries to his name, with a best of 172 runs. He has also maintained an outstanding strike rate of 96.94, with the help of 1162 boundaries and 149 sixes.

innings. Not to forget, the outstanding strike rate of 81.95 maintained by him, which has been well supported by the 677 boundaries and 100 hits out of the park.
The veteran also holds an exceptional record with the gloves in the longer version of the game, as he has 379 catches and 55 stumps to his name. Making him among the fraternity of the top five wicket-keepers with the most dismissals in their respective Test
careers.
Arguably, Adam is among the pioneers, who has put or used the term wicket-keeper/batsman in the real sense. He is surely the finest match-winning cricketers in all formats of the game. Surely deserves the number 1 position among the top 10 wicket keepers
in the 50-over game.

The veteran South African wicket-keeper/batsman Mark Boucher has been a true match winner for his team national team, since his advent into world cricket. Just like Adam Gilchrist, the veteran is also among the best or favourite option for any skipper to
have in the playing eleven of the 50 over version of the game.

He has played 292 ODI’s, out of which, he has stood behind the stumps in 287 innings or matches. In his 12 years of One-day game, he has 421 dismissals to his name, in which 399 are catches and 22 are stumps. In terms of keeping, the veteran has pocketed
6 dismissals in a single match, and all 6 were caught behind.
Mark Boucher has scored a brilliant of 4664 runs, from his 218 appearances in 292 ODI matches. He has maintained a modest average of 28.79, and has a century and 26 match-winning half-centuries to his name. His only century was an unbeaten 147 runs. Not
to forget, his outstanding strike rate of 84.72, his strike rate is well supported by the 354 boundaries and 83 smashing hits struck by him.
