Cricket Taken to Urban Door Steps by Ian Botham-Cricket News update
Cricket will undergo a slight transformation in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ian-Terence-Botham-c63998, has devised a new plan to attract children and youngsters to the sport. According to the retired all rounder, cricket
is only limited to youngsters and students who can afford the equipment  like batting pads, bats and other accessories which are essential but at the same time, are expensive .
To tackle all these limitations, attributed with the classic form of cricket, the all-rounder turned commentator is introducing Cage Cricket. This form of cricket is designed so that the game can be played in areas where people are deprived of proper cricket
grounds.
“Kids in inner-city areas think cricket is boring and they can’t afford pads or equipment – we want to change that,” said Botham. This form of cricket can be played in a span of one hour, even shorter than a T20 game which lasts for approximately 3 hours.
Indoor cricket can function well in England considering the amount of rain which is estimated to be around 200 out of 365 days.
It will be an alternate to Basketball and five-a-side Football which are played indoors. Cage Cricket will involve six players at a time and they would be attaining points on batting, fielding and bowling. The idea is to take cricket indoors into school
gyms, and further promote the sport among youth.
Former English captain will demonstrate how this form of cricket will be played in a cage built specifically for this form of cricket next week at the grounds of the British parliament. A soft ball will be used in place of the regular leather stitched ball.
London youth charity is involved with the idea and will raise funds to build cages all over the country .Spacehive.com is also being used as a platform where entrepreneurs and cricket supporters can donate for this cause.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stuart-David-Robertson-c91445, a former ECB’s marketing chief, non executive director of cricket cage and the man who started T20 cricket, states, “Cage Cricket is a bit less structured. They don’t need to wait for a teacher or coach, they can play whenever they like.”
