Cricket Update: Ashes 2010- Anderson shines as Aussies suffer humiliation
The incredible fast bowler from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lancashire-c806, James Anderson bowled tremendously to blow the fuse out of Australia, as the host slump to 245 all out at the end of first days play at 2nd Ashes Test match series at Adelaide Oval.
It proved to be nothing short of a nightmare for Ricky Ponting and his men, who had extreme difficulties to deal with earlier on in the game. Miscommunication between the two openers subjected the gates of desperation for them, when Simon Katich could not
respond to the call made by Shane Watson who was at the facing end. Katich fell shot of making his ground, resulting in a run out after a brilliant piece of fielding by Jonathan Trott from square leg.
Next in was the skipper Ricky Ponting upon whom all eyes are on as the fans demanded a huge score from him to lift the game up and steal the match away from England. To their utter disappointment, Ponting failed to add a single run to his name after he edged
a deliver which was shaping away from the line of off stump, into the safe pair of hands of Graeme Swann.
With two of their key players back to the hut, the whole bunch of responsibility was thrown to the shoulders of Vice-captain Micheal Clarke, who has having an alarming season this year and was scant on runs. However, the visitors had everything going their
way and the wicket of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 was a mere reflection of that fact. Clarke sliced away his wicket to Anderson in the same fashion to the same fielder in the same region, clearly mis-executing his shot with ball taking the edge of his bat and falling to Graeme
Swann who made not mistake like earlier. The Aussies were truly in a state of bother when they were 3 down for a mere 2 runs on the board. A superb display of in swinging bowling with varying pace from James Anderson made Australia suffer badly with the bat
and recording their first ever start in the last 60 years.
Luckily, for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, Micheal Hussey stepped in and played a responsible knock with the opener Shane Watson in a quest to build up the innings for their team. Both the batsmen took charge over tall English bowlers who were on a roll since early morning
break through. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326 played his natural game while punishing every delivery shot of length to every corner of round, reaching half-century under pressure within no time. He managed to get 51 under his belt before awarding away his wicket to the man of destruction
for his name, James Anderson who made him play a delivery angling in to the wicket with ball taking the edge of Watson’s bat going into the gully where Kevin Peterson took an easy catch.
Marcus North came to rescue his team from any further humiliation with Micheal Hussey on the other hand building the momentum of the innings. He looked perfect with his timing and shot selection the way he built his innings during the splendid knock of 195
at Brisbane.  Just when the two started posing threat to England, Steven Finn got his first wicket of the match when North was given out caught behind by a controversial decision. The two added 60 for the 6th wicket. Wicket-keeper Haddin was asked
to support the inform Hussey who succeeded in finding gaps and kept the scoreboard tickling. It wasn’t before England’s most destructive bowler for the year Graeme Swann delivered his contribution with the ball and made Hussey play a frightening delivery through
the covers which took the edge of his bat and into Paul Collingwood’s hands denying the prolific enigma a century. The tail got out relatively quickly with Aussies making 245 in total. When the day ended England were no down for 1 on the board.
England would be delighted to have restricted the opponent under 250 with the bulk of credit going to James Anderson for dismantling Australian batting line up at the top. They would now be eyeing to put as many runs as they could on the board tomorrow to
gain a healthy lead over the Aussies and possibly a calculated competitive advantage.
