Cricket Update: Australia down under before the second Ashes test.
After a fight back from England showing a lot of class and determination to dominate the first test, Australia will be under immense pressure. England should work more hard to maintain the touch they are currently in. They should try and build more on that
to put the home team in more agony. England certainly have the upper hand now before the initiation of the second test which is scheduled to be played tomorrow in Adelaide.
Australia need to win this series to reclaim the Ashes title. It was never going to be easy but now specially with the outclass performance from England in the first test where they came from behind and dominated the rest of the play, it will make things
more complicated for the Kangaroos.
The turf at Adelaide seems more supportive for the batsman which means it will once again be hard time for the bowlers as they will have to show a lot of fitness and strength to continue in the tournament. In the first test this series, England batsman
put up 517 for the loss of just one wicket which made the Australia bowlers seem pretty unusual. This definitely included the tiring factor with a lot of wear and tear.
This is for the first time that we are seeing Australia being under so much pressure despite of being the host nation. They need to strike back hard with a lot of competitive form to worry the England team. The batting line up for the game has remain unchanged
but for the bowlers Doug Bollinger and Ryan Harris are named for the pace attack in the 13 man squad.
At the end of the previous game , Ricky Ponting the Australia captain seemed a little relieved after he hit and unbeaten half century on the final day to redeem himself from the frustration of the time spent in the field when England batsman were teasing
the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 bowling attack.
Australia bowlers in particular will be under more fire because it was their performance that let the team down. Johnson has already been axed for the second test. Bollinger and Harris are the ones to have replaced him.
Last time both the teams met at this venue was in 2006. That is a past that England will like to forget but will never will. England started the final day four years ago at Adelaide with just 1 for 59 but with some dazzling and destructive bowling performance
from Shane Warne they were all booked for 129. Australia aggressively chased the total with a loss of only 4 wickets. England who were aiming for a victory here were instead defeated and is known as one of their worst ever test defeats.
Will this happen again? Australia will try their level best to produce a same result as four years ago but on the contrary, England will try and redeem themselves from the pain inflicted by that defeat by winning this one. All in all, it should be a wonderful
match to watch with a lot of expectations for some good competitive cricket.
