Cricket Update: Back to back victories for New Zealand as they win the T20 series against Pakistan.
New Zealand was able to end their loosing streak finally in the previous T20 against Pakistan at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Auckland-c766. A lot of speculation had gone out before the second T20. Loosing the warm up match and then the first T20 in New Zealand, it was never going to be
easy for Pakistan. Things have further aggravated for Pakistan as they lose to New Zealand in the second T20 of the tour by 39 runs.
Pakistan won the toss and chose to field.  Pakistan got their first success as Abdul Razzak got Jesse Ryder first up on a golden duck. It was a great opportunity for Pakistan to cash on the early breakthrough they got but this was until James Franklin along
with the other opening sensation for New Zealand Martin Guptill joined hands to set New Zealand to a flyer. They together added 91 runs and put New Zealand  comfortably in a dominant position. Guptill scored 44 until he was caught by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 on the bowling
of Saeed Ajmal.
Another quick success came for Pakistan soon after the wicket of Guptill as Franklin edged one to the keeper courtesy a great ball from Afridi. The scoring rate never dropped rather started accelerating as Scott Styris and Ross http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915 started taking on the
Pakistan bowling attack. Contributions from the pair along with an ecstatic stylish innings from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-McGlashan-c2178 shattered all hopes for Pakistan as he scored 26 runs from just 10 balls to make the final total stand like a tall tower. Pakistan bowling attack
kept on getting the breakthroughs but never was able to control the flow of runs as New Zealand ended their innings on a high total of 185 runs.
Mohammad Hafeez gave a good start to the Pakistan innings by playing some exquisite shots around the park. Afridi, the other opener hit a huge six on the off side until he was bowled out very next delivery missing a full toss by Kyle http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mills-c76321.
It was certainly a big loss chasing a huge total that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 had posed but Hafeez kept on going and made an exuberant contribution to the Pakistan innings. He made 46 runs until a collapse of the Pakistan batting line up when they lost three wickets
for less than 10 runs when Ahmad Shehzad, Hafeez and Younis Khan were sent back to the dressing room making http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 76 for 4.
Umar Akmal stayed on the crease for some time and made a good little contribution but seemed to have been just a little out of touch for his 26 runs. No other batsman for Pakistan seemed impressive as they failed to achieve the set total and lost the match
by 39 runs. The final score for Pakistan was 146 for 9 in the twenty overs.
For Pakistan, the Pick of the bowlers was Ajmal who took 3 for 35. New Zealand had a bit of a surprise package to their bowling line up as Nathan McCullum took 4 for 16 and left the Pakistan side completely devastated. He was declared the man of the match.
Now that Pakistan has lost the T20 series, will it try and redeem itself by winning the third and the last T20 match to carry on the good momentum into the one day series or will New Zealand make a clean sweep by winning the next T20 as well? All will be
known once the tournament progresses.
