Craig made a controversial start to English cricket.  In February, he was included in the team just after completing his residence qualification. Craig Kieswetter, is a South African born English opener. Craig was quick to impress selectors with his performance in English Lions. He made a mark in international cricket by scoring a century in his third ODI. Kieswetter later got respect for his quality batting in T20 World Cup which England won. The South African born batsman played a vital role in English victory by almost giving a sound opening start in all matches of T20 World Cup. He was man of the match for T20 final after he scored 63 from just 49 balls against Australia.
English Coach Andy Flower, has warned Craig to perform or else be prepared to get dropped from playing eleven. Andy while warning Kieswetter also praised his talent and potential. Flower has challenged Craig to perform to his potential. He has asked him to keep on improving in order to remain competitive in international cricket. "Craig has had an interesting time of it recently," said Flower. So he's up there doing that and achieving that, and then he's had a bit of a hard one-day series. But international cricket can do that to you. It can teach you some lessons and perhaps expose a few doubts."  
Craig who is nicknamed Hobnob is only 22 years old and still has a lot of cricket in him. Craig has cemented his place in T20 but has failed to impress in ODI’s. Interestingly, Kieswetter has better average in T20’s than in ODI’s. He has an average of 31.71 in T20 while his average in ODI is around 26. Craig reminds of Ravi Bopara, who impressed everyone with his early accomplishments but was later dropped from the side because of poor performance. English selection committee finds itself in a difficult situation, since most batsmen have done a decent job in recent times. Morgan is another cricketer that is in run for finding a place in playing eleven. Batsmen are in good competition for a place in playing XI. English captain Andrew Strauss believes this healthy competition is a good sign for English cricket. Strauss said it’s good to have option of different players than to be dependent on same eleven players. “We are going to need a squad at the World Cup, and it's a good thing we've got a lot of guys saying: 'I'm ready to be picked, I'm dying to be picked'. We're in a much better position at the end of the series than the start of it."- He added.
