Cricket Update: Garry will be the next coach of South Africa. A rumour- Gerald Majola
Cricket South Africa chief executive Gerald Majola has ruled out the rumour that India Coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Kirsten-c58527 is likely to join the Proteas when his contract ends after the World Cup. Mojola called it a story that Garry had applied for the position of South
African coach, or CSA had discussions with him over the issue.
Garry Kirsten has taken http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 to the top position in world rankings. He has been speculated as face runner for the confined position after existing couch van Zyl lead to his position as head of the High Performance Centre in Pretoria after the World Cup.
CSA gave advertisement of the position on Thursday. A panel including Majola, Van Zyl, convener of selectors Andrew Hudson and players' representative http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Boeta-Dippenaar-c1178 will commence interviewing applicants in January.
Majola said that a busy schedule is ahead for South Africa as compare to others. They will have to play Twenty20 World Championships in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, the first World Test Championships, home and away series against Australia and a tour to England in 2012. He
further described that they are looking for a competitive person who lead the team to the next level. They are in search for the right person from through out the world. He said that new couch will be offered a two years contract.
Gary Kirstien has been a top order batsman of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 back in 1993 at Melbourne. He has scored over 7000 runs in Test cricket. He took retirement from the international arena in 2004. In his
long cricketing career, he has achieved many records. After retirement, he worked as batting consultant for the South African domestic team Warriors. In 2006, he also set up his own cricket academy in Cape Town at South Africa. He signed a 2 year contract
to coach Indian Team in December 2007. Now Indian side has become a number one Test team of the world.
