as they defeated PIA by 7 wickets on the historic occasion which will be remembered for a long time in the history of Pakistan’s domestic cricket as artificial lights were used for the first time in a first-class match in Pakistan.
Hasan Raza said that, "it was a really good experience, all of the boys really enjoyed themselves and I hope that this is not a one-off. I really do hope that this idea is continued for next season and further into the future."
Quite recently, Pakistan Cricket Board’s policies have been heavily criticized but this move has been taken positively all around the world including the International Cricket Council.
Not only that the flood-lights were used in the final, an orange coloured ball was used to enhance the visibility. Victorious captain further added that, "we started practicing with the orange ball and pink ball two days ahead of the match, so it gave
us all an opportunity to adjust to the light and the colour of the ball. The PIA captain, Kamran Sajid, and I in discussion with our teams decided that the orange ball would be better, and I really do hope that future matches in the Quaid e Azam Trophy are
played under lights with the orange cricket ball."
Although this move by PCB was criticized in some of the cricketing ranks but it turned out to be a successful decision especially because a large number of spectators were present during the evening sessions throughout the first four days.
Hasan played well in both the innings of the final to guide his team towards victory which is quite an important one for Habib Bank, as it did not have a great time in the domestic cricket during the last decade. However Habib Bank has a rich history in
cricket as it has produced some legends like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salim-c88143 Malik and Abdul Qadir in the past.
