Cricket Update: India dominant at the close of 3rd day at Durban against South Africa
India a great cricketing nation and a dominant test team is always expected to perform well given their current form. Ranked at the top in the test arena, it was forecasted for India to fight back after loosing the first test against South Africa.
In the second test of India’s tour to South Africa, South Africa won the toss and chose to field.  They were able to bowl India out for a total of just 205 runs courtesy some ecstatic bowling performance by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dale-c52110 Steyn who took a six wicket haul to destruct
the Indian innings.
The highest scorer for India in the first innings was VVS Laxman who made 38 runs. Other than him, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni-c73820 was the only batsman for Indian to enter into 30 runs mark.
In reply to a low total posed by India in the first innings, South Africa were rattled by some dazzling bowling performance by India and to be more specific, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan. Harbhajan ended up taking four whereas Zaheer took 3 wickets to
shatter the South African batting on a low total of 131 runs all out facing a deficit of 74 runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/VVS-Laxman-c2772 who scored 96 runs before being caught by Mark Boucher behind
the stumps on the bowling of Steyn.  At the end of the second innings, India posed a total of 228 runs giving South Africa a target of 303 runs.  Lonwabo Tsotsobe and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Morne-Morkel-c77722 took 3 wickets each while Steyn took 2.
In reply to the target posed by India, South Africa had a good start to their innings as Graeme Smith and Alviro Petersen added 63 runs opening stand until Smith edged one to the keeper on the bowling of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shanthakumaran-Sreesanth-c89725. Petersen was dismissed by
Harbhajan for 26 as South Africa became 82 for 2.
More was added to the misfortune of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 when they lost another wicket at 82 runs and that of their consistent batsman Hashim Amla who had made only 16 runs. This wicket certainly gave the Indians a step closer towards sensing a victory. Sreesanth
ended his day by picking up 2 wickets.
At stumps on the 3rd day of the second test, South Africa is 111 for 3. With Jacques Kallis batting on 12 and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AB-de-Villiers-c887 batting on 17 runs.  South Africa are 191 runs behind with 7 wickets in hand and two days remaining.
It is pretty much evident, that the match will get results especially with two days remaining. Who will win the match? Will India sweep the South Africa batting on the 4th day to earn a victory at Kingsmead, Durban or will South Africa show some
temperament and chase the total down to inflict another defeat upon the Indians? After all, the fans wouldn’t want to miss a match as exciting as this.
