Cricket Update: McGrath has ruled out that he will coach Australia in the near future
Australian fast bowler, Glenn McGrath has ruled out that he has no plans to coach Australia in the near future. Australia has lost the Ashes series and the thing that would hurt them the most is the fact that they lost it in their own backyard. Nothing clicked
for the Aussies in the Ashes series and the way they lost it would hurt them even more. Australia lost the Adelaide and Melbourne Test by a convincing innings margin and somehow failed to live up to the promise that they have been talking about for many months.
Bowling has been the strength of Australia for number of years, but the way they bowled in the Ashes series was a counter reflection of that. Most of the Aussie bowlers did not click in the Ashes series, and the ones who clicked were either too few or clicked
for only some time. We saw Australian bowling in full form during the first innings of the Brisbane Test, when Peter Siddle took a hit trick to dismiss England for a low total in their first innings. Glenn McGrath is one bowler who is considered as one of
the all time greats of Australian bowling and nothing would make the Aussies happy than to see him return to the side as their bowling coach.
But at the moment, McGrath is not interested in any coaching job and has declined of going after such offer. Australia’s bowling coach, Troy Cooley will step down after the fifth Test in Sydney and after that, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 will be looking for a prominent bowling
coach who could fill this position. Glenn McGrath was of the view that he is always happy to give advice to the players, but he also realizes that there has been a lot happening in his life for past 12 months and there have been plenty of things that have
kept him busy during this period.
McGrath further said that he will chat to the Australian players during the Sydney Test, but he is not so sure about the coaching role of Australia in the future. McGrath has enough commitments on his hands and McGrath Foundation is one project which McGrath
gives a lot of importance to and holds quite dear to his heart. McGrath further said that it’s quite disappointing for Australia to lose the Ashes at home and he also criticized the media for making too much fuss of the series loss.
