the Pakistan A team as well. From Pakistan's domestic first class cricket he went on to play county cricket in England. He somehow fell in love with the South African national team for whom he decided to move to South Africa. Proteas' selectors, earlier last
year also, had picked him up for the series against England but they later found out that he didn't fulfil the criteria for South Africa's citizenship so he ended up not playing for the side.
Imran Tahir is a vastly talented leg spinner who has taken 535 wickets at the first class level with an average of 25. He has played domestic cricket in South Africa as well playing for the Titans there. He also represented http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hampshire-c789
in English county cricket. Tahir’s performance this last season speaks volumes about the amount of potential he has as a bowler. In only four first class games, he managed to take 30 wickets.
Meanwhile, Jacques Kallis wasn't considered for the ODI squad due to an injury that he picked up against India during the last Test. Mark Boucher also remains out and is mostly limited to Test matches.
Imran Tahir was finally granted the South African citizenship on the New Year. He has received clearance from the ICC to play for his new home country since he has satisfied the condition of not playing cricket for the country of his birth for more than
four years.
"Imran has made http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 his home and has been married for some time to a South African. He has been a leading wicket-taker in the top South African domestic competitions for the past few seasons and is highly respected by both his colleagues and his
opponents. He certainly becomes a contender for selection to the Proteas' squad now that he has met all the government, ICC and CSA regulations regarding his new nationality,” said Gerald Majola, the CEO of Cricket South Africa.
