Cricket Update: Pakistan Spot-fixing- suspended players leave for Doha
Three suspended Pakistani Test players, Mohammad Aamir, Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt have set off on Tuesday for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Qatar-c2986 to appear before an International Cricket Council tribunal.
The trio were suspended by ICC in September over a spot-fixing case during fourth Test against England at Lord’s. The case will be heard by an ICC anti-corruption tribunal headed by Michael Beloff QC in Doha from 6 January to 11.

After the suspension of Aamir, Asif and Butt an operation was carried by Britain’s News of the World, who claimed that the several Pakistani players took money from a famous bookie, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mazhar-c75448 Majeed to bowl deliberate no-balls on Butt’s instructions because
he was leading the team as a captain at that time. It was also reported that the ‘bookie’ was in constant contact with the players.

David Cameron, and a Pakistani lawyer Shahid Karim is representing Aamir.
Aamir at the Lahore airport told to the media that his first priority was to clear his name.
"My lawyer has prepared the case extensively and I hope that I will be cleared," said Aamir.
He expressed that he was facing the toughest time of his life and he was confident that he will be playing for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 soon.
Recently, confidential information of tainted players related to spot-fixing case has been continuously provided to the media. According to media reports, ICC is of the view that the disclosure of confidential information to the media about the cases, which
are yet to be reviewed by ICC tribunal, can affect the whole proceedings.
Aamir’s lawyer, Shahid Karim has raised the voice that the fresh leak of the statements given by Pakistan captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482, coach Waqar Younis and team’s former security manager Khawaja Najam was damaging for his client.
The trio – Waqar, Shahid, and Najam, in their statements given to ICC, have confirmed the suspicious role of the three suspected players.
The punishments which suspended players may face include a five-year suspension to life bans.
