Cricket Update: Pakistan’s defeat in first match of T20 against New Zealand
Pakistan in their first of three matches faced an embarrassing defeat in the Twenty20 international on Sunday against New Zealand in Aukland. The batting line of Pakistan was made failed by pace bowler Tim Southee who earned hat-trick and made it easy for
New Zealand to enjoy their first match win. In addition, New Zealand’s opener Martin Guptill made a splendid 54 runs in 29 balls quickly and paved the ways to victory for New Zealand by beating Pakistan for 143/9 in twenty overs. It was the fastest by a Kiwi
in Twenty20s. He hit for sixes, including a one which crossed the ground, before he was run out for an attempt of quick single.
Southee took five wickets in eight balls to finish with 5/17 including third hat-trick in international Twenty20 matches which reduced Pakistan from 58 from one to 68 for six within time period of ten minutes. He was the first to bag five wickets in Twenty20
international and was awarded with man of the match.
On the other hand, Kyle Mills took three wickets for 37 and Scot Styris took one wicket for 18 runs.

Ahmed Shehzad was removed when he left crease caught by McGlashan bowled by Southee on 14 runs for seven balls which included two fours and one six at the end of the 6th over.
Wahab Riaz and Umar Gul were the top scorers from Pakistan’s side as they both added 30 runs each but still the Kiwis managed to attain victory with 17 balls to spare. Umar Akmal could not add a single score for Pakistan and was lbw out on the ball of Southee.
Younis Khan was dismissed by Southee after got caught by Brownlie and added only two scores for Pakistan. Abdul Razzaq became the fifth victim of the pace bowler when he gave a catch in the hands of wicket keeper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-McGlashan-c2178 adding only one score. Southee
completed his five wickets from 18 for his five overs.
New Zealand also took a great batting start with 15 runs score in first over and achieved the target in 17.1 overs for the loss of five wickets only. Jessy Ryder and Martin Guptill were the openers from their side. Ryder was the first to leave crease ate

wicket for 29 runs.
In the tour of New Zealand Pakistan will take part in Twenty20, two test and six one-day internationals. The Test series will start from January 7 while One-day series will start from 22 January.
New Zealand led the three match series by 1-0. Second match of Twenty20 series will be played on Tuesday, December 28 at Hamilton, New Zealand.
