Cricket Update: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Razzaq-c84421 Stars Once Again As Bangladesh Crush Zimbabwe
It was expected that the series between Zimbabwe and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bengal-c771 Tigers in the 3rd ODI of the series
in which the left-arm spinner, Abdur Razzaq starred once again to hand Bangladesh a victory margin of 65 runs.
At the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, the Zimbabwean captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Elton-Chigumbura-c55937. Zimbabwe made three changes
from its previous line-up as Keith Debengwa, Keegan Meth and the injured Elton Chigumbura gave way to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hamilton-Masakadza-c61354, Shingirai Masakadza and Graeme Cremer. On the other hand, Bangladesh did not disturb the winning combination and played an unchanged team.
Bangladesh’s top-order did not fire today and at one stage, Bangladesh were 4 down with only 71 runs on the board. From that situation, Shakib Al Hassan played a captain’s knock and placed his team in a comfortable position along with the wicket-keeper Mushfiqur
Rahim, who able supported his captain in a partnership which yielded 116 runs for the home team. Because of the 5th wicket partnership, Bangladesh was able to score 246 run for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Shakib remained the top-scorer with 73 of 91 balls including 5 boundaries. His partner, Mushfiqur Rahim scored 63 of only 73 balls in difficult circumstances and struck 5 fours and a six. Imrul Kayes’s was the only other notable contribution; he scored 33
batting at the top of the order.
Stand in captain and the off-spinner, Prosper Utseya was the pick of the bowlers as he grabbed 4 wickets after conceding 38 runs in his 10 overs. Shingirai Masakadza, Christopher Mpofu and Raymond http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Price-c82662 took a wicket each for Zimbabwe.
In return, the visitors were in trouble from the word go as they lost 6 top-order batsmen with only 47 runs on the board and the destroyer was non other than the left- arm spinner, Abdur Razzaq who was also the man of the match in the 2nd ODI.
Zimbabwean situation could have been much worse without Prosper Utseya’s lone hand of 67 in which he struck 3 fours and 3 sixes. But unfortunately for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045, no other batsman was able to support their stand in captain. Zimbabweans were bowled out for 181
runs in the 49th over of the innings.
Abdur Razzaq bowled like a true champion and in his memorable spell of spin bowling just conceded 14 runs of his 10 over and got 4 top-order wickets. Shafi ul Islam also took 4 wickets but gave away 43 runs in 9.1 overs. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mashrafe-Mortaza-c1917 and Shakib Al Hassan
picked up a wicket each for the home side.
There were some extra-ordinary performances in the match but Abdur Razzaq was rightly adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding spell. Although, Shakib Al Hassan, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mushfiqur-Rahim-c2045, Shafi ul Islam and Prosper Utseya were tough competitors for the race
of the player of the match.
Zimbabwe would need to apply themselves better with the bat in the 4th ODI if they are to level the series, especially because of the superb form shown by the Bangladeshi spinners.
