Cricket Update: Resilient Bangladesh sweep aside the Kiwi’s in the fourth ODI
Shakib al Hasan once again proved his sheer class as he steered Bangladesh to an impressive 241 against New Zealand, scoring a resilient century off 113 deliveries. Despite some early losses, Shakib capitalized against the spinners to play some truly spectacular
cricket. Despite Bangladesh stuttering at 44 for 3, Shakib helped his side recover tremendously and showed great nerve against the Kiwi’s as he proved to be an impregnable wall.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahmudullah-c1877 gave good support to the captain with his 37 however; a target of 241 seemed manageable for the Kiwis. Or so we would have thought. Bangladesh made an impact early on when the Kiwis suffered a loss of 3 early wickets losing McCullum, Watling
and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915 in quick succession. They soon found themselves tottering, and Bangladesh certainly had the upper hand from the very beginning. Kane Williamson however put on some stiff resistance against the Bengali bowlers, as he smashed most of the balls across
the boundary and at one point after the 70 run 6th wicket partnership it seemed that the Kiwis will be able to chase the target.
However, it was Bangladesh that came out at the top yet again, as they bowled the Kiwi’s out for 232. The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 side winning three consecutive matches and it now seems as if Shakib’s words
are resonating against a formidable Bangladesh side. He had earlier said that Bangladesh can win the series 4-0 and they have won 3 matches in a row, to make it 3-0.
Shakib not only shined with the bat but also with the ball, as he took 3 important wickets on a slow and turning track to defend their total of 242. Shafiul Islam also bowled considerably well as he took 2 wickets for 29 runs. All in all, it was a wonderful
performance by the Bangladesh side, who have found their consistency under their star player Shakib al http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hasan-c61990 who has been consistently performing for his side.
The Kiwis desperately need a win against the minnows Bangladesh, who have completely turned the tables against them. The Kiwi’s would now be seeking a victory to somehow avenge the series win against them. Till then, Bangladesh has all the right to bask
in reflected glory of what is truly a historic win for the team.
